OverlijdensberichtLloyd D. VanBlargan, 84, a former resident of Nuremberg, of 25 E. Coal St., Shenandoah, died Monday at his home.
Born in Nuremberg, Jan. 4, 1918, he was the son of the late Daniel and Mabel VanBlargan. He attended local schools. Mr. VanBlargan served in the Army during World War II. Before retiring, he last worked at Alcola.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were brothers and sisters.
A funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Stauffer-Heizenroth Funeral Home, 412 W. Main St., Ringtown. Burial will be in the Nuremberg Cemetery, Nuremberg.

OverlijdensberichtEdna P. (Rupert) Van Blargan, 93, formerly of Zion Grove, and a guest at Shenandoah Senior Living Community, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning at Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street.
Born in Bloomsburg, March 25, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Edwin and Lucy Smick Rupert. She was a graduate of the former Nuremberg High School. Edna was a retired garment worker, having worked in the local garment industry. Edna was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Nuremberg, and the International Ladies Garment Workers Union.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, was her husband, Lloyd Van Blargan; brothers, Francis, Roy and an infant at birth; and sisters, Ida, Susan and Arabella. Surviving are two sons, Curtis Van Blargan and his wife, Cynthia, Shenandoah, and Wayne Van Blargan and his wife, Darlene, Zion Grove; a grandson, Douglas Van Blargan and his wife, Stacy, Zion Grove; nieces and nephews.
Religious and prayer services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Zion Grove. The Rev. Phillip K. Smith, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Zion Grove. Relatives and friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church. Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah, is in charge of the arrangements.
