OverlijdensberichtJuanita G. Britton ( February 10, 1923 - November 11, 2011 ) Born February 10, 1923 to Grace and Clinton Van Blaricum, the youngest of seven children.
Juanita graduated from Columbus, IN High School and City Hospital in St. Louis, MO as a registered nurse. She had an addition degree in Public Health Nursing from Vanderbilt University/Peabody School of Nursing. Did polio, private duty, hospital and retired as a public health nurse from the Ingham Co. Health Department in 1984. Juanita was an active and beloved member of the Mt. Hope United Methodist Church for 53 years. She was very active in the Small Hold Needs Bank at the church. Juanita met her husband, Jim, of 61 years during graduate work in Mexico City and were married December 27, 1950.
She is survived by her husband, James; 3 children, Murray Britton, Debbie (Randy) Ferrer and Annette (Mike) Sullivan; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held, Tuesday, November 15, 2011, 11:00 AM at Mt. Hope United Methodist Church with Pastor Bill Haggard officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in St. Clair, Michigan. The family will receive relatives and friends, Tuesday, November 15, 2011, from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the City Rescue Mission or Mt. Hope United Methodist Church Small Hold Needs Bank in memory of Juanita. The family is being served by the Palmer, Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Home, Lansing Chapel.

OverlijdensberichtBorn December 17, 1924 in Coldwater, Michigan the son of James and Achsah Britton, died Friday, July 12, 2019 at the age of 94.
A graduate of Union City Public Schools and Michigan State University he retired in 1984 from the Michigan Dept. of Transportation after 26 years of service. He was a member of the Mt. Hope United Methodist Church and active in various volunteer activities such as, driving the children to Youth Haven Ranch, Mt. Hope yard maintenance, serving dinner at the City Rescue Mission, evening help at Family and Child Service, and the Small Household bank. He served 5 years in the U.S. Army Air Force, Air Transport Command, stateside and North Africa during WWII. He enjoyed photography, boating, and music.
Jim was proceeded in death by his parents and his wife Juanita Britton in 2011. Jim is survived by his son, Murray Britton of Little Rock, daughters, Deborah Ferrer of Virginia and Annette Sullivan of Virginia, 11 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 19, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Hillside Cemetery in St. Clair, Michigan. In memory of Jim memorials may be made to the City Rescue Mission of Lansing where Jim enjoyed volunteering.
