ObituaryWith her family by her side, Jeanette Lee Gensler passed away on August 7, 2023. She was born to James and Mary (Trusty) Van Blaricum on April 10, 1953, in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Jeanette worked many jobs including clerical work for Newing Haul, the Census, a nurse's aide for Rossford Schools, as well as her favorite career, selling Avon where she made many friends. She met the love of her life, Donald Gensler in 1977 and were married on October 12, 1979. Together they enjoyed raising their daughter, Alicia, spending time as a family and always viewing the world through a glass half full. In their retirement years, they could always be found enjoying long car rides along the river and in the local metroparks. Ever loving nature and animals.
Close to her heart were many non-profit organizations, especially those that helped animals. She gave generously and consistently to many worthy causes such as The Humane Society, Cherry St. Mission, and Nature's Nursery. You could always count on Jeanette to be the most positive in the room and lead with her warm and cheering smile. She adored visitors and lived in the moments of people around her, especially her daughter, Alicia. Always cherishing every endeavor and adventure of Alicia.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Donald Gensler; daughter, Alicia (Chris) Boose; siblings, Mike (Susan) Van Blaricum, of Bakersfield, CA, Pete (JoSandra) Van Blaricum of Hope Hull, AL, Paula (Pete) Schalkoord of Sacramento, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends and family will be welcomed at Sujkowski-Walker Funeral Home on Saturday, August 12, 2023, from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., with a service beginning at 12 p.m. Interment will follow at Ft. Meigs Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest a gift to Wood County Humane Society or Cherry Street Missions.
