In Memoriam -- Elizabeth "Libby" Thompson, 98, of Richland Center died Tuesday, Sept. 9, 1997, at Pine Valley Health Care and Rehabilitation Center. Born Feb. 19, 1899 in Wyoming Valley, she was the daughter of Benjamin Frank and Harriet Sophia (Hulin) Van Blarcom. Libby married Leslie W. Thompson Feb. 4, 1937 in Ithaca. He preceded her in death Dec. 4, 1976. She was also preceded in death by daughter Marquita "Kitty" J. Matthews Dec. 1, 1991. Libby was a member of Richland Baptist Temple. Survivors include a son-in-law J. Robert Matthews Sr. of Ithaca; grandchildren, Robert Jr. (Donna) Matthews of Camden, Ala., Joel Matthews of Richland Center, Joy (special friend Maynard Driscoll Jr.) Matthews of Richland Center; great granddaughter Marquita Jean Matthews; several great nieces and nephews and also great great nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 13, at the Pratt Memorial Chapel with Rev. C. D. Fretz officiating. Burial was in the Spring Green Cemetery with Rev. Russell Wooten conducting the graveside service. Memorials may be made to the family. Pratt Funeral Service assisted the family. |
