Overlijdensbericht

Casper "Cap" Carlos Naegle, lived a full life until March 22, 2017. He passed away in his home with his family by his side in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. A family memorial service will be held in late July in St. Johns, Arizona at his birthplace.
He was born to the late Eugene Naegle and Cubah Judd Naegle on December 10, 1928. He was raised on the family ranch near St. Johns, Arizona. Cap worked on the family ranch throughout his youth and when his older brothers and uncles were overseas fighting during World War II. Cap wanted to be a part of the war effort, and along with a high school friend, left home at 15, hitchhiked to San Diego, California to work on the B-24 airplanes. Cap, after graduation from St Johns High School in 1946, enlisted in the army. After his enlistment, he hitchhiked to Ft. Bragg, North Carolina where he was trained as a paratrooper. He spent his weekends as a projectionist and charged his fellow servicemen a fee to watch movies. Cap used these monies for his education.
Following discharge from the army, he attended the University of Arizona where he was the first person in his family to attend and graduate from college. He began a career in the cattle industry, first as a ranch hand, followed by managing feed yards for the Janss Corporation. He was working in this capacity when he met and married Sue Ann VanBlaricom in Palm Springs, California June 14, 1958. During their marriage, the couple moved to Lubbock, Texas; Roswell, New Mexico; Farwell, Texas and Bovina, Texas where he managed cattle feed yards. Cap was co-owner and manager of Parmer County Cattle Company from 1968-1985. He retired from the managing portion of raising cattle in 1985 and spent the rest of his active days in the mountains he so loved.
Cap had a very active life. He played football, basketball, rode bulls and broncos, piloted small aircraft, was an avid bird watcher, photographer and collector of arrowheads. Cap served on the board for Texas Cattle Feeder's Association and served a term as President while on the Bovina School Board. Cap loved the mountains and his family with a passion. He spent many an hour in his beloved Ruidoso mountains hiking, bird watching and collecting Indian artifacts. He has passed these loves to his children and grandchildren. Cap had a humorous and positive outlook on life and his children and grandchildren continue his tradition of rhyming and using "Capisms" in their daily lives.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Eugene and Judd Naegle; and two sisters, Wilma Naegle Bozung and Eileen Naegle Lee. Cap is survived by his daughters, Dianna Naegle Gibson and her husband Dale of Flower Mound TX; Kim Naegle Anderson and her husband Ron of Rising Star TX; his son, Casper Carlos Naegle Jr. and his wife, Rebecca of Bartlesville Ok; grandchildren and great grandchildren: Jace, Cory and his wife Lee Anne, Kristopher, Brody and his wife Kate, Colby Jasper, Paris, Casper III, Ryan, Harry, Eulalie, Tayler, Corie, Breanna, Lance, and his wife Jill, John Brock, Ellis, Fisher, Brock and his wife Heather, Hayes and Finley; his good friends, Barbara Saunders, Sue and Rudy Geissler; his coffee buddies and dining companions at Green Country Village; his beloved Labrador, Stu and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
