Chuck was born August 3, 1940 in Tamaqua, Pa., and was a 13-year resident of Nevada. Chuck was an outstanding pitcher in high school winning two straight baseball championships. His high school career included two no-hitters and three one-hitters. He was selected to be in the first Pennsbury High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2001. After graduating in 58' he signed a bonus contract with the Cincinnati Reds. He played for several years before developing arm trouble. He was active in Levittown American Little League in the early 1980's as coach, manager, president. He felt that sports helped him to be a better parent as his children played Little League to high school football, swimming and ice hockey. He believed that sports built confidence and a winning attitude that took him through his entire life.
He became a management trainee for U.S. Steel Fairless Works, Morrisville, Pa., retiring at 55 after 28 years. In 1998, he and his wife relocated to a home on a golf course in Las Vegas. He was very involved with his community and served on the Board of Directors for Sun City MacDonald Ranch since 2003, presently as president. He also ran golf tournaments/outings and had served on many committees as chairman, liaison, or member. He loved his community and the people in it. In his spare time he played golf with nine hole-in-ones.
He was preceded in death by Isaac Watson (stepfather); Gladys Watson (mother); sisters, Joan Stapp and Mae Settle. He is survived by his wife, Joan Peterson Van Blarcom of Henderson; daughter, Kimberly (AJ) of Bensalem, Pa.; sons, Charles (Kimberly) of Yardley, Pa., Scott (Nikki), and grandsons Scott Charles and Justin Michael of Levittown, Pa.
